Employed by Haldimand County, I spent my 2020/2021/2022 summer as a lifeguard and instructor of swimming lessons. My job responsibilities were to oversee activities at the aquatic facility, teach weekly swimming lessons, enforce/explain the rules, respond to emergencies, maintain cleanliness of the pool and create records and reports of incidents. In August of 2021 I was promoted to the assistant aquatic coordinator, which extended my responsibilities.

At the Twin Valley Nature Park I had several jobs and responsibilities. Depending on the volume of visitors at the Zoo, I would either be on patrol around the park, work traffic control in the parking lot or help with daily zoo animal jobs. This included sorting food, cleaning enclosures, cleaning animals and animal therapy. This job made me familiar and comfortable around animals.
