Ben is Executive Director of the Action Rehab group , the hand therapist for the Melbourne Football Club (AFL) and a director of Action Rehab (Melbourne), The Hands Physio (Sydney) and Northside Hand and Upper Limb (Brisbane). Ben manages a team of 70 Physiotherapists and Occupational Therapists who are experts in the care of Shoulder, Elbow, Wrist and Hand injuries. Ben has 20 years of experience in managing a private Allied Health business and over 25 years' experience providing hand and upper limb therapy. Ben’s experience has included more than 10 years working in elite sport for the Collingwood Football Club and the Melbourne Football Club (AFL), eight years as the senior clinician and Burns and Plastics stream leader at The Alfred Hospital in Melbourne and three years working in the United Kingdom at the Queen Victoria Hospital.Ben completed postgraduate Masters of Clinical Science (Hand & Upper Limb) through Curtin University in 2006. Ben is currently a Lecturer at Monash University where he has taught injury rehabilitation to both undergraduate and postgraduate Physiotherapy students for more than 12 years.Ben is an Accredited Hand Therapist as awarded by the Australian Hand Therapy Association (AHTA) and has held previous roles on the management committee. Ben was the original course designer and author of the "Hand Trauma" and "Fundamentals of Hand Therapy" workshops run through the AHTA and presents workshops locally, interstate and internationally. Ben also runs his own workshops lecturing therapists both here in Australia and overseas on the specialist area of sports injury, hand and wrist trauma and biomechanics. Ben is a regular invited speaker to national and international conferences was an invited key note speaker to the New Zealand Hand therapy Association - "Fit to Play" and the International Federation for Societies of the Hand Conference (IFFSH) in London where Ben presented on upper limb sports trauma.Ben's special interests are in sports biomechanics, hand trauma with a special interest in Hand and Wrist fractures, wrist instability and Tennis Elbow. Through his role at Orthosport Victoria, Melbourne Football Club and Olympic Park Sports Medicine Centre he treats a number of elite athletes including players from the AFL, NRL, A-league, Cricket Australia, Tennis Australia, Melbourne Rebels, Melbourne Victory and Netball Australia. Ben has led the way in the treatment of complex intra-articular fractures in the wrist, hand, thumb and digits, presenting at national and international conferences.
