Using a combination of previous experiences, and learnings form university, I fulfill day to day duties as a digital marketing specialist. Under this role falls a plethora of categories which I manage according to season and trends. Through this I run the social media pages: Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and LinkedIn along with my team. We aim to drive social media viewers through to our marketing funnel, essentially converting engagement to final results. Along side this comes a digital design aspect where I can showcase my art creation to post and grow impressions. Other marketing factors come into play such as CPC with advertising and SEO when writing articles, improving our SEO ratings from 15-70 in some cases.

Whilst in university, my digital design skills improved tenfold. I decided to combine my passion for social media marketing and my creative talent to form an Instagram account where I’d build a following and sell custom logos to clients. The account gained over 1k followers in the first month with an average of 220 likes per post. I sold and worked on numerous projects over the course of the first year however, the focus of this account was to learn hands on, how to build and manage a business Instagram account.

The first half of my placement was spent with the marketing team, my roll was to research into a marketing strategy that AO were planning to launch. I created a schedule for the team that would help them deploy the strategy at optimum times. I was also tasked with constructing a brief for another campaign that was sent to the design team and I was able to see this process from A-B. The second half of this placement was with the branding team. My task was to re-design office spaces within the vicinity to clearly represent brand values. This was achieved with Adobe Photoshop and I presented my design concepts to the team through a PowerPoint presentation. The feedback received was extremely positive and some of my designs will be implemented within the building. I experienced most team meetings and spoke with multiple departments, it was very enjoyable to be behind the scenes of such a large online company.

I worked weekends whilst studying at college. My aim was to earn money to fund my buying and selling business as well as to gain experience within a company as large as Tesco. The importance of consumer relationship was the main focus allowing me to learn techniques through personal experiences. I received an award form the managers after a customer had left positive feedback about me on the online system.
