I direct these efforts of the National Content Team:* The national news desk, a team of six journalists, that create and publish editorial content across our site and our digital newsrooms in Chicago and Los Angeles. * The developing, gathering and analysis of the key newsroom metrics for digital platforms and newsletters.* Being the key editorial stakeholder on multi-operational teams developing and improving our content management system and other digital tools, including our Morning and Afternoon Editions newsletters. As ACBJ’s digital operations grew, this includes working with UX and design experts, developers, QA testing, planning the deployment, documentation, training and supporting the launch and follow-up improvements, This includes tools for images, taxonomies, metrics, newsletters and syndication. Also I am part of teams integrating third-party tools into the routine workflow of our newsrooms.* Leading the team that maintains a quality database of hundreds of thousands of company names and related information used by the newsroom in digital publishing and listings of local businesses.* Develop and train on best practices for newsrooms on topics including: Search Engine Optimization, meeting digital metric goals, acceptable use of Creative Commons photography, copyright, platform-specific headline writing, social media, using our CMS and other digital tools.
