Manage and lead Projects, Maintenance and Operations teams at the Bacton Gas Terminal. Responsible for the safe and efficient processing of natural gas and associated gas condensate from the Southern North Sea. Unit processes include gas-liquid separation, onshore compression, condensate stabilisation, ethylene glycol recovery, mechanical refrigeration dewpointing and fiscal metering.

Based at the Onshore Gas Reception Terminal working within an established team to ensure safe continued operation and project work was completed. I was given many responsibilities including travelling offshore, acting as project engineer/manager for projects at the terminal. Roles and responsibilities included:Gained a UK offshore survival certificate, subsequently traveling offshore to manned and unmanned platformsGained understanding of industry texts and standards (API, BS, Campbell Gas Processing, ISO14001)Scribed and played an active role in safety and business assessments and vetting design (HAZOP, HAZID, TRM)Provided process engineering input into the operations team, two major shutdowns and plant modificationsInterfaced with engineering/design and service contractors to scope and complete work when requiredSkills gained:Excellent communication, presentation and report writing skillsA wide understanding of the Oil and Gas industry, onshore/offshore working environmentTechnical and practical process engineering knowledgeAn understanding of project structure (from AFE , installation to commissioning)How to manage budget and time constraints, without the compromise of safetyA perspective for other disciplines needsAble to independently generate work list, prioritising work from several departmentsAble to work with and co-ordinate onshore/offshore operational teams effectivelyAble to work successfully within teams of experienced engineers and operators

I undertook a Health and Safety and Crowd Management training course. Dealing with members of the public, I utilised this training not to let situations escalate into conflicts and to provide a safe environment to all.

This provided me with an insight into customer care, customer service and how management structures are employed by multi-national organisations.

I was trained in AutoCAD. Learning different processes at various wastewater treatment works in Kent, I was able to apply some of my knowledge assisting to design several components of a waste water treatment plant. During site visits, I learned how theoretical concepts were implemented.

As an event manager, I had the opportunity to work around the UK and Europe, including Euro Disney in Paris. This improved my organization, time management and problem solving skills, as well as my self-confidence, by being part of an entertainment team at private functions and events ranging from 50 to 4,500 people.
