Main Duties and ResponsibilitiesManaging 1 direct report & 40 functional reports, responsible for all URENCO’s nuclear material shipments across the globe. This is a particularly specialist role in ensuring that a low volume, extremely high value (circa $3.5 bn) product is shipped internationally, safely & reliably whilst working with key government regulators. Key focus areas:• Ensuring full compliance with all international / national government legislation & regulations from the IAEA, IMO, ADR etc… for the shipment of Class 7 materials• Ensuring all transport services are fully contracted for every type of shipment of Class 7 materials globally• Managing a small and specialised contractor base to facilitate these shipments• Delivering a >20% saving within the first three months of the role through contract placement & negotiation• Ensuring the first deliveries of Feed & Tails with new contractors in the United States & Netherlands• Updating the existing contracts to an international standard model of contract, in particular identifying risks & insurance requirements• Completing an in depth category market review of the current position of URENCO’s requirement for transport services• Attending international conferences hosted by the World Nuclear Association (WNA) & the World Nuclear Transport Institute (WNTI)
