• Manages and develops the Washington D.C. campus website (www.rts.edu/washington). Providing support as a web application developer and administrator for the FederalReporting.gov site, contracted to the EPA. Primary tasks include front-end web application development using Java technologies, as well as database maintenance in MySQL and Apache server maintenance in UNIX. Began initiatives including automation of manual tasks, such as statistics reports and batch jobs on the UNIX servers. The reports being automated have added new technologies to the project that were not previously being utilized, such as PdfWriter.Maintains site performance through the monitoring of the 12 Apache Tomcat servers and production database server. Other performance related tasks include the monitoring of logs and responding to any server errors, such as re-starting the server if there are any issues.

Responsible for development, architecture, maintenance, testing and interfacing with the client. Responsibilities include query development and management for the staging and production database servers, as well as debugging Java code for enhancement requests. Utilized the IBM Datastage ETL tool for data mining and transformation, development and execution. Tasks include writing the SQL queries to pull data from the Corporate Data Warehouse (CDW) databases, putting those queries into Datastage jobs, and executing those Datastage jobs that were developed to extract data and create text files that will be used to create our reports.

Worked on multiple platforms and databases (DEV, SIT, PROD on Sybase, DB2 and Oracle). Responded to Remedy/CTT (defect or enhancement) tickets. Many of these tickets involved tasks such as performing database restores/refreshes/retirements and changing user access to servers.Also was involved in writing multiple scripts, which performed tasks such as automating SQL jobs and checking for space on servers. Supported the applications as a tester throughout the entire testing life cycle, which included writing test cases from requirements, writing and executing test scripts, and capturing the results of those scripts.
