I started a men's fashion blog in my bedroom in 2007 after noticing a gap in the market for relatable, real-world style advice. Thanks to my background in online marketing, SEO and programming, I was able to grow it quickly into a leading online publisher, with comparable traffic levels to GQ, Esquire, Men's Health et al. - all with no outside investment. In 2015 I negotiated and completed the sale of the company to Answers.com, which at the time of acquisition (2015) was a Top 10 Comscore website.Continuing in my role as General Manager after the acquisition, I helped scale traffic via a paid social strategy to unprecedented levels; for a period of time FashionBeans.com was a Top 20 Comscore Website for US mobile traffic. In recent years, we consolidated our SEO strategy and cemented ourselves as the internet's most authoritative and accessible source of men's style advice, with an audience of 2.6m organic readers. In my final stand, I facilitated the smooth transition of the business to the US parent company.
