About Ben Hoffman
I ran my first marathon 6 weeks after completing chemotherapy. I am fiercely determined, yet a unique blend of calm and energetic. This has allowed me to grow into leadership roles across my life- from captain of sports teams, to the President of the multiple social organizations, to management/supervisory roles professionally. Education and training is at my core. Understanding how learning works through learning theory and how to apply and overlap those theories regardless of content or medium is my speciality. When developing a course or curriculum, the question I ask myself and verify is, why do you think learning will happen? I believe multiple formative assessments throughout trainings are critical and analyzing data of assessments to improve training programs is a must. I am in my element in front of a room and my personality gives the best chance for engagement. I am a builder and a dreamer- able to see and develop large picture ideas by understanding and putting together all of the tiny details. In college, I started a fraternity and revived a chapter of an English Honor Society. In my current role this includes spearheading the transition of an ERP system, implementing a ticketing system, implementing a knowledge base, and building out a new website. Whether a system or project needs developed, revived, or maintained, I am able to make it what it needs to be.
