Provide operational and strategic support by working closely with Heads of Service on strategy execution, in particular leading on designing HR provision that addresses strategic business issues to Directorates and Schools. Keeping abreast of developments in HR issues, I act as a key adviser on employment law, HR strategy and employment policy matters.

HR lead for workforce information and metrics; Project Board member on implementation of a new reward structure (2009) and modernisation of terms and conditions project; Lead on Equal Pay case management; Provide generalist HR advice to management on employee relations issues.

Preparation and analysis of workforce information and metrics, statutory returns and benchmarking surveys.

Member of the Job Evaluation & Equal Pay Project Team with a key role in developing company response to the management of large scale equal pay claims, including a companywide review of pay and grading and strategy formulation for future equal pay management.

Similar to previous role with previous employer, this role involved more provision of support to managers on ‘transactional’ HR and payroll issues throughout the employment cycle, from commencement to termination of employment.

First line advice and guidance to employees and managers on payroll issues including pensions, sick pay, maternity pay, taxation and national insurance and terms and conditions of employment.

Provision of clerical support to the corporate HR Policy, Payroll and Training teams. Main responsibilities involved administration of Mitrefinch flexi-clocking system and Council ID badges.
