Leads and co-ordinates all aspects of the current projects undertaken by the department. The role will ensure the deliverables are completed on time and on budget, as identified in the project plan. Lead and coordinate project activities including financial responsibility for the project and management of resources as deemed necessary to meet the schedule and budget for the project deliverables. Identify and track metrics as they relate to the project deliverables. The role will provide leadership, guidance and support to designated project staff, contractors and stakeholders.

Role Summary:Reporting to the Director, Clinical Informatics, the Specialist leads and promotes the integration of computer and communications technologies and clinical change initiatives that automate and/or enhance evidence-based clinical practices, access to patient/client information and clinical documentation via the Electronic Health Record (EHR) in collaboration with clinical leaders, service and program managers and directors, physicians and staff.As an integral regional and/or Community of Care (COC) based member of a multi-disciplinary leadership team, the Clinical Informatics Specialist works to increase the effectiveness, efficiency, accountability and sustainability of clinical initiatives that assist in the successful transitioning to a fully integrated EHR throughout VCH programs and services.

Responsible for organizing a number of related activities to ensure the goals and objectives of a designed project/program initiative are accomplished.  Working in conjunction with the Project Manager, duties will include leadership of small projects/programs or portions of larger project/programs. In addition, this position is responsible for the development of project schedules, project budgets, status reports, procurement documentation and financial forecasts.
Liaisons between the business stakeholders, project team, and vendor resources.  The Project Coordinator advises the project stakeholders of project activities, advises the project team of stakeholder concerns, including end users, support departments, external agencies, consultants and vendors.  The position contributes towards achieving the goals of successful scope, budget, schedule and quality of IT projects.
