Researching computational bioacoustics specializing in the detection of rare acoustic features. I am interested in how passive acoustic monitoring and deep learning can be applied to detect rare, at-risk or invasive species that are typically challenging to monitor. I have worked with organisations such as Cacophony Project and received funding for my research through Predator Free 2050 Limited, Forest and Bird New Zealand and Biosecurity Innovations UC.I am the co-lead of the Listening Lab, an ecoacoustics research group. My expertise is in audio deep learning particularly few-shot unsupervised learning approaches and active learning. I also have experience with visual classification and computer vision. I am interested in continuing to develop my skills in computational bioacoustic and ecological modelling.
