I'm part of a small team that develops applications to support Sales, Operations and other departments in quoting and managing projects. We have two main tools: Gears, a quoting tool that is used for new customers to determine what specific requirements they have and how much we should charge to build out their infrastructure. And IProject, a project management tool that we use to help track where we are on a project and determine if we're hitting our time goals.With these, we make sure the company is making money.

I work with a team that is contracted to perform development and maintenance work for the City of Indianapolis/Marion County. We work mainly on new development and enhancements to web applications, both internal and public, for the various departments and agencies in the City/County. While at DAI, I have had many more opportunities to perform web development and I also am able to sit down with the clients themselves more often to discover application enhancements and modifications.

As a member of this small development team, we supported and wrote many client/server applications for the daily use of the entire organization. Our primary focus was the creation of an in-house developed Human Resource/Financial system. The system is used to track employees and their HR information, as well as pay. The majority of our applications were written in VB.net, with Oracle databases and Crystal Reports.
