Responsible for working with the board for maintaining the (ISC)2 Gauteng Chapter as a not-for-profit company as per South African company law and being a signatory to the company bank account. Involved with furthering information security within South Africa by working with the Chapter officers in arranging chapter events and communicating with other.

Worked in conjunction with Investec. Clients included Sage Life, Metropolitan and Fedsure. Majority of the project involved planning and execution of mass data transfers from a legacy system to the new one. A substantial portion of my time was spent onsite in a support and planning role for database modifications and downtime. (Tools used: AWK, gcc, Oracle)

Extracted commonalities from different Business Processes and packaged them into generic programming libraries using COM objects. Clients and shareholders included Naspers and Nedcor. (Tools used: COM objects using MS Visual C++ 6)

The South African government had an initiative to make the taxi industry cashless and auditable. I assisted with developing a prototype implementing an electronic payment scheme over GSM. (Tools used: Borland C++ Builder 3,5; MS SQL 6.5)
