Advancing Public Policy. Serve as the primary lobbyist in Nevada. Serve as the primary AHA contact with elected officials and policymakers. Identify state legislative priorities and develop a state action plan to advance the issues. Serve as a highly reliable and effective partner with state and local coalitions with similar policy goals as the AHA.Implement media advocacy campaigns in support of AHA policy goals.Testify at hearings and alert AHA to important meetings on key issues. Alert AHA when association action is warranted.Plan and execute a state lobby day and/or legislator reception during the legislative session.Track bills of interest to the AHA and our partners.Identify, recruit, train, support, mobilize and provide consultation to AHA Nevada volunteer committees and task forces in the state.Identify events, meetings, conferences and other opportunities for recruiting and mobilizing volunteers.Seek out other organizations, coalitions, companies and government agencies to leverage partnership opportunities to advance the AHA''s advocacy issues.Contribute regular state advocacy updates to the Affiliate staff newsletter and other communications vehicles as appropriate.
