May ’10 to Aug ’11 – ENSCO 72 & ENSCO 80 for Various Operators. Progress from night to senior mud engineer, drilling six wells in the Southern North Sea with a variety of water based systems and oil based reservoir sections. In this time I experienced some challenging drilling of reactive clays and Zechstein sequences with various inhibitive water based mud systems. Faced a variety of issues such as Zechstein brine flows, salt squeezes and mud losses.Apr ’09 to Mar ’10 – ENSCO 92 Eastern Irish Sea Campaign for Various Operators Eight shallow depth exploration wells drilled using Sodium Silicate drilling fluid for a variety of clients. One challenging, deviated development well on BHPBs Lennox platform. The majority of these wells experienced major losses, accompanied with drilling in areas known to have the potential for high H2S Aug ’08 to Feb ’09 – Sedco 704 for ADTI Drilled two successful exploration/appraisal wells drilled using oil based mud and drill-in fluids. Both wells experienced well control operations and were successfully well tested.
