I'm a startup-loving software developer / strategist and leader. With a 20+ year history of technology innovation across sectors such as metaverse, robotics, automotive safety, mobile imaging, marine and energy, I am passionate about developing technology which makes a real difference to its users.I'm a Chartered Engineer with the IET, and hold a master's degree in Engineering from Cambridge, and 5 patents to my name. I've both directly led software teams in small and large companies, and recruited and mentored many entrepreneurial teams through a large venture studio. In the past I've led innovative development in small start-ups all the way up to Broadcom, working on the chip that's most famously at the heart of the Raspberry Pi.My areas of specialism are:- Back-end software - C#, .NET Core, Node.js (with TypeScript). - Algorithm development - Image processing specifically, but other signal processing too. Matlab, Python, and high-performance implementation in vector assembler and C.- Cloud Architecture and DevOps - most experienced in AWS, but some in GCP too.- Embedded software - high-integrity systems, and signal processing. Main languages here are C, C++ - including experience building in ROS2.
