My role is primarily to develop and promote the history and heritage of Newcastle through interpretation, visitor information, engaging with local amenity bodies and delivering the commemorative plaque scheme.• Responsible for the development, preparation and delivery of informative visitor information including traditional interpretation, visitor leaflets, digital interpretation and heritage/conservation-related information websites• Working in collaboration with other council officers and stakeholders to deliver larger heritage-based schemes (Old Newcastle) and cross-over heritage/public art schemes (Secret Bunker North) – up to £140k• Responsible for the City’s Commemorative Plaque Scheme• Responsible for internet and IT-based heritage developments, including the Heritage Open Days website, Tyne and Wear Sitelines, digital interpretation and others• As the subject matter expert in interpretation enabling community groups to achieve their interpretive aims through advice, guidance and where appropriate delivering some of the outputs• Responsible for overseeing annual university 8 week work-placements
