With drug overdoses being named as the number one cause of preventable death in the United States, there is a dire need for workers in the field of addiction treatment and recovery. With an intimate knoweledge about the disease of addiction as well as the recovery process, I excel in connecting with patients in a way that is not only compassionate and relatable, but also therapeutic. I have experience working in clinical inpatient settings, as well as long-term 12-step immersion facility. Currently in my last year of classes for an undergraduate degree in Addiction and Recovery from the University of Alabama, I posess a wide array of skills which I use to be effective with patients. The combination of experience and education have prepared me to have an immense impact with patients seeking help for their addictions.
