The AA, founded in 1847, is the oldest school of architecture in the UK. For over 170 years the AA has been committed to producing and disseminating ideas that advance the design of contemporary cities and the built environment.I am a member of Council which is the body responsible for the overall strategy and governance of the AA. I also Chair the Finance & Audit sub-committee of Council.

QSix is an established real asset investment adviser with c.£1bn AUA with specific expertise in building and managing highly granular residential property backed portfolios.My role focused on developing investment strategies in UK Affordable Housing to deliver long term, low risk, inflation linked returns alongside positive social impact, with a particular focus on highly granular roll up strategies.Key initiatives included:• Affordable Housing Lease Purchase Programme (LPP): Strategy to acquire up to 1,000 street properties over a five-year period across London, leased to a Local Authority owned not-for profit organisation on 50 year “income strip” leases. Two stage financing strategy comprising a warehousing phase followed by syndication in tranches to the institutional capital markets; and,• London Housing Plus: A comingled fund delivering a strategy to invest c.£400 million in London residential property (800-1,300 units) leased to a council owned not-for-profit company; increasing the provision of good quality homeless accommodation, supporting low income working families and delivering secure inflation linked returns to institutional investors.

• Part of a small team developing investment strategies to deliver new UK Affordable Housing through matching institutional capital seeking long term inflation linked returns with local authority housing requirements• Developed a new fund idea focused on long lease real estate, and discussed it with potential backers including investment management firms

Led the direct activities of Aviva Investors Real Estate (AIRE) in UK and Europe ex-UK, comprising multiple external and internal mandates, totaling c. £15 bn of assets. Member of key AIRE committees and boards including the Executive Committee, Global Investment Committee, Investment Governance Committee and European Finance Committee as well as the boards of multiple funds and JVs. Board member of Aviva Investors Luxembourg SA, a regulated UCITS 3 management company.Key responsibilities included:• P&L responsible for the largest individual revenue and profit contributing business within AIRE, overseeing all investment and asset management activities, team leadership (60 people across multiple jurisdictions), financial, risk and operational management and strategic development;• identifying and developing new business initiatives, including building and maintaining relationships with key clients, partners and advisers; and• representing AIRE in senior industry forums and speaking events

Led and significantly grew AIRE’s activities in Continental Europe, increasing AUM from <€500m to c.€2.5bn, invested across multiple markets.

Developed and executed financing, growth and restructuring strategies for a range of clients

• Managed and ultimately sold TrizecHahn’s investment in Global Switch, a global data centre development and investment company; and • Developed and executed complex corporate strategies in European retail real estate sector

Originated and executed debt and equity investments in industrial and real estate projects in the CEE region.
