I was also responsible for writing all of Mr Harper's outgoing press releases. I managed the constituency diary, arranging relevant events and liaising with stakeholders.I managed the process of constituents who visit the office seeking assistance. I have the ability to set people at their ease and talk to them in a manner that enables me to find out what their issue is. I deal with highly sensitive cases ranging from domestic abuse to child neglect. I formed relationships with key members of the community from the General Manager of the Pembrokeshire County Show, to the Communications Director of Valero and decision makers at Pembrokeshire County Council. In 2010 I won an Arqiva Radio Award in the category of Specialist Programme of the Year. The show focused on local sport and featured regular guests from in and around Pembrokeshire sport. This award was the first time that a Radio Pembrokeshire programme had been recognised nationally. The radio station had more than 40,000 listeners a week and 2 out of 3 people listened over a 13 week period. I sourced guests and contributors to feature on the programme and have an ability to take in information from press releases very quickly and then put a creative spin on that information, ready for broadcast. I made regular appearances as a guest speaker, for example at local Rotary Clubs and have hosted School Assemblies, Award Nights and live Outside Broadcasts. Show less

Newbury

As Programme Manager I was tasked within two weeks of my appointment with building and heading up a new on air team of presenters. I successfully held interviews and recruited a strong team that in December 2008 produced some of the best radio listening figures in the station’s history. I liaised closely with the station’s Sales Manager and became adept at “dual calling” often meeting very important clients.

Narberth

As Senior Presenter one of my key responsibilities was to develop ideas, present them to the Sales Team and generate revenue for the radio station. I formed relationships and conducted regular interviews with Politicians, Assembly Members and important members of the community.

Cheltenham

I was based firstly in Stroud with Star 107.9 and then in Cheltenham with Star 107.5. Whilst in Stroud, alongside a daily Breakfast Show I recruited and managed a team of volunteer presenters. Whilst at Star Radio in Cheltenham I presented the Drivetime Show and then produced a news orientated, mid-morning show which allowed me to continue to take an interest in setting a news agenda.

I combined my studies at both university and 6th form with presenting radio programmes in London, Newbury, Basingstoke and Oxford.
