My role involved 45% of network time, 15% desktop, 15% server support, 25% IT management. My responsibilities:• Scope, Plan, Implement, Oversee all IT projects• Configuration and management of Cisco, Netgear, HP, Symantec and Generic equipment and all links between sites.• Troubleshooting incidents in regards to Hardware, Software and Networking issues • Designing sever and network structure, writing the proposal to board, implementing new structure, whilst causing minimal disruptions to teaching staff and students.• Negotiated service contracts with Telstra and Dell.NATC ACHIEVEMENTSProject: Inter campus WAN• Complete redesign of WAN from consumer grade ADSL to Telstra Business Broadband service utilizing BDSL services running speeds of 20Mbs• Responsible for liaising with external providers that oversea various internal systems to make sure full connectivity into our network was provided without compromising security.• Cabling the new communications room up. Spanning from Hamilton to Bairnsdale.• Racking all servers, switches, routers, firewall and communications equipment in the new Comms room. Project: Werribee servers to ESX• Virtualizing 4 servers had to take place in one night as they were core business systems.
