Primarily responsible for developing bespoke inspection solutions using conventional and array ultrasound probes while researching new post processing, visualisation and deployment techniques. Also responsible for presenting progress and findings to stake holders, developing new project ideas and creating technical reports and documentation.

Developed a linked finite difference temperature model and finite element stress model of work rolls in the steel hot mill rolling process. Input parameters were imported directly from the process database (SQL).Temperate model developed in C# using a combined 2D time-based core model and static 3D surface model. Surface cooling was modeled using a 2D water spray impingement map and run times were minimised using a novel predictive method.Stress model developed in ABAQUS CAE, using python scripts to automate the model construction, running and results interrogation processes. Temperature data were imported using a custom Fortran subroutine and mechanical load profiles were based on recorded load data from the process database. Residual stresses were estimated using an iterative technique based on partial data acquired using a deep hole drilling technique.
