Considered a subject matter expert in VMWare technologies and how they integrate and extend EMC solutions. This role requires a strong understanding of how Cloud computing affects business process as well as helps IT transform into a service provider. In this role I also design solutions which utilize current and emerging technologies to support the customer's datacenter initiatives which included Cisco UCS, Nexxus and EMC storage and data protection technologies.Selected Contributions:Partner with Sales leadership to help drive revenue as well as thought leadership within strategic accounts throughout the North East.Support Marketing activities including EMC World, VMworld, VMware User Groups and other regional activities. Support ranges from giving demonstrations and supporting the booth to presenting to large groups of customers. Drive the customer perspective throughout EMC engineering. Provide technical training to key partners including Presidio, Green Pages as well as Cisco and VMware.Build out demo and lab capabilities for VMware/Cisco/EMC technologies throughout the North East. This included a major vPractice Lab as well as a joint VCE lab at Cisco.Mentor new vSpecialist, TC's and sales personal on the value of EMC in the VMware context.Support VMware vSphere, View and SRM proof of concepts within our customer base.

EMC Pre-sales engineer providing technology consulting for assigned territory. Responsible for all technical aspects of a 13 Million dollar a year sales team comprised of 6 sales representatives. Provide education on Vmware/EMC/Microsoft/Oracle best practices with regards to implementation, backup and recovery and business continuity solutions. As a trusted advisor I build in-depth knowledge of my clients' technical and business priorities, challenges and initiatives and translate them into EMC solutions and services. I ensure effective coordination and support between account teams and supporting implementation resources both local and in the field. System engineering functions of EMC's Enterprise Windows Infrastructure Team which is comprised of 600+ servers and 20,000+ users across the continental US. The scope of these systems includes Active Directory services, Vmware ESX, Windows File & Print clusters, Windows DNS-WINS-DHCP Services, Web-Application and SQL servers. Also a member of the EMC's Windows VMware Team which provides design and implementation resources for EMC IT's Vmware Virtual Infrastructure.Selected Contributions:Key member of a team tasked to consolidate 100+ end of life Dell PowerEdge servers into virtual machines housed on EMC's Shared Vmware Environment. This project had a direct financial impact on our capital budget giving EMC savings on replacement hardware, maintenance and depreciation of assets. Developed and documented a physical to virtual process which overcame technical obstacles involving the migration of 20+ boot from SAN servers into EMC's Vmware infrastructure. This process, design and documentation were then used as the standard P2V process across all of IT.Assigned to a team for EMC's Account Life Cycle management project. This team designed and implemented EMC's tool for account management across all major platforms. This architecture involved both Physical and virtual web, Oracle application and database servers along with Cisco Load balancers.Technical lead for EMC IT's storage resource management suite. This software is used to manage and quota 30+ Terabytes of data hosted on 95 windows file servers. This project required an architecture design, proof of concept, implementation and build documentation.

Member of EMC's ESS Manufacturing Group which tests and qualifies the Symmetrix family of controller and memory boards, which included applications for SCSI, Escon and Fiber Technologies. Daily tasks involved ESS test execution, identification and escalation of error trends to engineering, debugging in test chambers and in pre-ESS, and qualification of new software and diagnostic software testing. These controllers and memory boards are the core components of EMC's DMX enterprise storage line. Selected Contributions:Passed Senior Technician Exam. Technical mentoring to less experienced technicians. Diagnosed failures of EMC Symmetrix family of controller and memory boards according to a strict fault isolation method.Sign off on error incidents prior to escalation to EMC engineering. Responsible for the verification of all incident logs prior to the product being released to systems test.Identification and escalation of error trends and code issues to engineering, debugging in test chambers and qualification of new software and diagnostic testing.Assigned to the Advanced Manufacturing and Development group, which qualified EMC's prototype technologies.
