I want to increase access to finance for social services and public goods with my background in applied economics research, finance, and international development. My commitment is to human progress by accelerating the rate of social innovation to keep up with the blistering speed of technological change.I excel at financial analysis, writing, budgeting, credit & portfolio analysis, and project management. I know my way around a financial model to a construction site to a farm in rural Nicaragua, all with an open mind and caring heart.Applied economics (4 years) - I've been fortunate to work with the leading agricultural economist, David Zilberman, on his research, organizing programs and conferences, and handling sensitive communication with UC leadership. I've assisted on over 30 papers, edited 2 books & am co-author on 11 papers (see Publications). These are on the economics of supply chains, sustainable development, implementing innovations, technology adoption, autonomous vehicles and the political economy.Community Development Finance (6 years) - I served as analyst and portfolio manager for a structured investment portfolio to affordable housing and community facilities developers and private equity funds at Charles Schwab & Merrill Lynch Banks. At Schwab, I created an analytical tool for our portfolio's impact on Schwab, which had me meeting with the Bank CFO. International Development (10 years) - I lived in rural Ecuador, Peru and Nicaragua for 2 years. Since 2009, I volunteered to help the founder grow an international youth leadership NGO, working on all aspects of organization management, growth and fundraising. I currently serve as a board member at GSE, which has grown to a $2 million NGO working in 3 countries with over 40 schools and universities. In 2016, I received a Masters of Development Practice at UC Berkeley, combining science, policy, and management on global issues- my focus was agriculture.
