"I took the one less travelled by, and that made all the difference." I learnt this excerpt during English Lit class when I was 16. I didn't know it would have such a profound impact in the way I see the world and the way I solve problems. As I left school, I just didn't want to conform. Throughout the next decade, I worked in various industries such as media, education, government, think tanks, development sector and finally stumbled upon law. I found a constant as I explored; I love working with people. My roles as a social worker, educator, researcher, and mobilizer throughout these years have given me a unique perspective on the pulse of the communities I worked with and the challenges they faced. And one thing was amply clear. These pressing problems needed wholistic solutions and multi-disclinary approach is the way forward. In other words, taking the road less travelled felt like the intuitive choice. As I embarked the journey as a student of law while continuing to work with youth and communities at large has led me to the realisation that my purpose is to work at the intersection of law, technology, and human rights, as we gear towards the possibilities and challenges of the next decade. I believe though leveraging the power of technology can create a more just and equitable society for all; it is evident correct safeguards should be placed to protect the integrity of democracy, build peace and protect human rights. Therefore, responsible technology, well formulated policy and good governance shouldn't just be ideals, but imperatives as we stride forward. And my aspiration is to become a policymaker in this critical intersection of techno-legal governance.I am eager to connect with like-minded professionals, thought leaders, and change makers as I continue in the road less travelled. Let's exchange ideas, collaborate on initiatives, and collectively shape a future where technology and governance serve humanity. Together, we can bridge the gaps forging a path towards positive and safe future.I am convinced that the best is yet to come."If not us, who? If not now, when?"
