As a Coach at GBCT, I work with programme athletes to develop podium performances across track, road and time-trial disciplines at Paralympic and World Championship level. My background as a Physiologist at the English Institute of Sport has given me experience creating performance solutions in the areas of physiological profiling, reactive training optimisation, jet lag management and race-day preparation protocol.In 2020, I completed my PhD at Liverpool John Moores University under the supervision of Dr David Oxborough. My thesis, entitled "The Impact of Training Quantity on Structure-Function Relationships of the Cyclist's Heart" presented new information regarding the use of in-exercise speckle tracking echocardiography, with implications on both performance and clinical levels. My areas of interest for future research include; right ventricular adaptation to exercise, cardiovascular implications of RED-S, and assessment of adaptive status using resting physiological measures.
