OEMC Projects:• Designed and implemented Gig Ethernet for CPD video interrogation / interview cameras for all Area / districts Police stations. Created MOP’s (Method of procedures) for all adds, moves and changes.• Managed the successful installation of Metra commuter rail camera system and Chicago Transit Authority cameras into the OEMC Video Operation Center. Designer and implementer of O’Hare Back up communication center using SONET OC192 and VRRP, VLAN and Nortel core switch.

Responsible for the LAN Management, using SNMP HP OpenView NMS. Assessment of new patient room interface and electronic headwall for data connection to UNIX servers. Optimization of LAN, FDDI campus backbone network, T1 Data network and UNIX system (HBOC, EPIC and HP's Careview) communication using TCP/IP. Developed / tested technical standards for local and remote internet access. Developed and tested technical standards for HBOC using TCP/IP. Developed and tested user procedures for Medline local and remote access.

Responsibilities were primarily for the assessment and optimization of the data, voice and video teleconference network design. Conducted feasibility studies for large projects, developed requests for proposals, evaluated vendor products and made recommendations on selection. Provided highly skilled technical assistance in planning, problem resolution, and engineering and new network architecture. Developed and tested technical standards, procedures and interfacing applications. Interfaced with senior level management, end users and vendors in support of First Card IT growth.

Greater Chicago Area

Technical support, problem determination for customers on site and remote. Design and implementation of SL10 and DPN 100 / DPN 50 X.25 packet switching network for Federal Reserve Network (FRAS / CNOC). Tested configuration in-house for American Airlines in Tulsa, Oklahoma, installed and implemented pilot network. Interfaced with customer for future network interconnecting applications and equipment.

Chicago Police Headquarters

Responsibilities were for all data communications equipment for Chicago Police HQ. Mobile data terminals in cars, Hot sheet, Leads and bulletin updates. Emergency information for City agencies info, i.e.: Fire, Sanitation, Aviation etc... Coordinated the installation of voice and data equipment with end users, vendors, telephone companies and electrical contractors. Installed and maintained on-line data processing equipment, including computer terminals, Personal computers running 3270 SNA emulation software and token ring and other associated network hardware. Logged all service calls and followed up with vendors to ensure prompt problem resolution.
