As the Security Advisor for ITV's Love Island Season Six in Fiji, I was responsible for overseeing the safety and security of the 450-member production crew. My role involved conducting thorough risk assessments, developing and implementing security protocols, and collaborating with local law enforcement and emergency services to address potential threats. I ensured the safety of both the crew and contestants by managing security plans tailored to the unique challenges of filming in a remote location.In addition to crisis response coordination, I worked to ensure compliance with local regulations and industry safety standards. Balancing the needs of production with the health and safety of all involved was a key priority, requiring constant adaptability to changing situations and the ability to anticipate security risks.The impact of my role became even more significant considering the success of Love Island Season Six. The season was the most-watched streaming series in the U.S. from July 5–11, with 919.1 million minutes watched, and in its final week on Peacock, more than 1.1 billion minutes were streamed. This viewership translated to substantial advertising revenue, with a potential estimated ad revenue of up to $2.2 million based on CPM rates. This level of exposure added further responsibility to ensure a safe and secure environment, knowing the production’s high profile would attract significant attention from both viewers and advertisers.My efforts were crucial in maintaining the security and operational efficiency of the production, ensuring a safe environment for all crew members and contestants while contributing to the commercial success of the series.
