As the Logistic Coordinator, I am responsible for the planning and execution of customer’s product transportation. I am responsible for project management tasks that support a complete chain of events including planning/consolidating, tendering, appointing, closing, and payment of all loads in a specific geographic region. I work with a cross functional team, to ensure GMP is achieved with beverage production plants. I also work with transportation vendors to ensure carriers are qualified for food grade shipments to the customer. I continually work towards the operational goals set by the Customer and Logistics Manager including on-time performance and tender acceptance measured in the TMS (system) via the carrier performance and tender activity reports. Also, I contribute to the other operational goals that may include a savings goal for our customer, through decision making, project involvement, equipment utilization, and process improvement efficiencies.

Operations Specialist – International Ocean Export (2018 May-Aug 2018) Responsibilities consisted of coordinating freight all over the world, Regions included Latin America, Asia Pacific, Eastern and Western Europe, and Africa. I was able to receive an order for the product to be shipped I then followed the required steps to ship the customers product. I now have a strong understanding of international laws and legal documentation that are required to ship to different countries. I was also in charge of scheduling drayage for all of the bookings I made so now I have experience in domestic freight when it comes to schedule pick up times with drayage companies. By the end I was able to ship ocean containers all around the world.

Responsibilities included managing distribution of Kellogg’s products across North America. I was able to utilize the SAP system throughout the course of my internship. Clients I supported were Walmart and Meijer clients by providing schedules to ensure Kellogg’s baked products were provided on time. While there I was able to complete all of the assignments efficiently by adapting to the given situations, this allowed me to take on additional responsibilities. By the end, I was in charge of Kellogg’s Kansas Bakery and the distribution of their products to their customers such as Walmart and Meijer.

The Vice President is responsible for the professional development and integration of new members into Global Business Brigades at the Central Michigan University. The Vice President works directly with new members of Global Business Brigades to help them develop professionally and intellectually prior to their trip. This is essential due to the challenges that they will face while abroad.
