About Benjamin Davison
I am a research fellow at the University of Leeds, researching the stability of the Greenland and Antarctic ice sheets in a changing climate. My research has combined satellite remote sensing with numerical ocean modelling to quantify the effects of the atmosphere and the ocean on glacier and ice shelf stability. To undertake this research, I developed fully-automated software to measure glacier flow speed using satellite imagery and developed novel 3-D ocean modelling capabilities to simulate ice-ocean interaction in unprecedented detail. These results have been published in international journals such as Nature Communications. I am interested in applying my skills to further Polar research or to developing software and analysis tools to better utilize geospatial data
