As a member of the clinical laboratory, I help confirm and provide epidemiological and diagnostic results for the Illinois Department of Public Health in effort to assist with outbreaks, bioterrorism, and disease in the many facets for the people of the state of Illinois.

Assist in providing exceptional patient care by performing accurate laboratory testing with an adequate turn- around- time, with the patient’s best interest in mind. Work as a member of the core lab in departments such as chemistry, microbiology, hematology, blood bank, as well as specimen processing. I currently am a per-diem Microbiology Technologist on the 3-11 shift with duties that include intense set-ups from the majority of our out-patient workload, STAT specimen testing of C.Diff and Influenza testing run by PCR, Blood Culture processing, reporting and read outs, rapid testing (such as rapid Beta Strep Group A testing, rapid RSV testing, Legionella Ag testing, Microbial Molecular Testing (Trichomonas, Gardnerella, and Candida), confirmation of Beta Strep Group A by PCR, CAP Survey Testing, training new technologists and assessing competencies upon arrival to our department and my shift, as well as any other assignment or task deemed necessary.

Assisted in providing exceptional customer service by maintaining a functional and professional front end of the store. With the assistance of the management team, I assisted with fiscal monitoring, helped maintain proper freight flow, and other duties assigned. Worked as a team with many other co-workers to help assure that the store was a customer friendly atmosphere that made for an enjoyable shopping experience.
