My role and responsibility at Ravenscroft Primary is to work within the nursery unit on a daily basis, which includes setting up the nursery room activities and providing assistance to the teacher when required. In addition to that I also provide one to one support to an SEN child in the afternoons, which includes providing stimulating activities and working closely with the class teacher to further support the child’s needs in the classroom.

I visit schools across London and give presentations on safety and citizenship to pre transition children for TFL. I also do administration duties.

Newham, London

My role as teaching assistant included setting up and running a math’s club which involved games and one to one work with pupils. I also assisted lessons by creating resources such as power points, creative activities and research into areas that would benefit the pupils. I also provided various support using digital technology in and out of class time. I also supported from time to time an SEN child with ADHD, this included reading, literacy and math’s, and making sure that he kept on task.

I give short talks to school groups about the life of Benjamin Franklins time in London, objects in 17th century London and the works of William Hewson who was an Anatomist. In addition to this I will be escorting school groups around the museum and assisting on other projects and events that the museum puts on.

I gave tours around the museum, highlighting Alexander Fleming's life and work, help out in the shop and assist with the visitors.

I manage staff members roles and jobs within the club. Other roles that I cover include creating and managing resources for the children in my care, creating new games and experiences, organising the health and safety protocols of the club and the running of the day to day work schedule. I also head up a project where every four weeks the children learn about other countries and cultures through play and activities.

I help when needed in the school on a variety of roles. I work on school maintenance, assist with school trips and manage lettings.

My role as a cultural ambassador in the school includes making sure children have access to the arts as well as other areas of cultural value, that help children learn about the world around them. This includes facilitating workshops, organising and running trips to museums and other places of historical value. I am also responsible for delivering the schools cultural charter to all members of the school and by helping with the organisation and running of events that not only benefit the school community but the local community as well.

I will be working on the Hands On desk in the new Viking exhibition. I will be handling and talking about ancient Viking artifacts.

I work in the Samsung Digital Discovery Centre at the British Museum. I help with the set-up and running of the educational sessions. This includes getting the equipment ready, meeting and greeting the schools, assisting the children in the sessions. I have also helped to incorporate a new digital activity in one of the sessions which involves a trail around one of the museums galleries.

I helped organise the running of tills to ensure smooth running for the customers. I also dealt with complaints, refunds and general customer assistance. Whilst working as a supervisor I was in charge of scheduling breaks and what staff were working when and where.
