I planned and lead group sessions at Perception House and individually assisted clients toward integration back into society. Perception House is a 3-5 month residential program for women with a dual diagnosis of mental illness and substance abuse. This internship required the use of interpersonal communication skills and interaction with individuals in the client system both by group sessions and through phone contact. I identified and implemented crisis intervention both in groups and outside of group sessions. I collected, analyzed and presented data for a trauma-informed survey and interacted with culturally diverse populations. This internship relied strongly on teamwork, critical thinking, and effective time management. I used computer-based case management and clinical software as well as Microsoft Word, Excel, Google Forms, and other computer-based software applications.

Interviewing for assessment and assisting in distribution of goods and donations for homeless and low income clients. I assisted elderly clients in acquiring goods, working with a team to transport donations to clients in need. I had experience working with culturally diverse populations.

I assisted my assigned case manager and the support staff in meeting the needs of acquired brain injury clients. The experience included working in the field, attending meetings, making phone calls, and filing audited documents. I used various computer software applications to interpret charts, graphs, and tables to review client needs and services. I was also responsible for case file review with the primary focus of identifying discrepancies in the patients master files, time logs, and the online staffing schedule. I was able to establish and maintain cooperative relations with superiors, associates and clients.
