My educational journey has been focused on history, which I am excited to continue as I pursue a Master's degree in History at Duquesne University this fall. My studies have enhanced my skills in analyzing information, understanding diverse perspectives, and communicating insights effectively, all while building a strong foundation in writing through a Liberal Arts Education from Saint Vincent College.In my undergraduate thesis, "Lessons Learned from Republican Motherhood: The American Revolution to Abolition," I explored various movements during and around the American Revolution that elevated women's roles at home and in society, enabling them to influence the world around them. This newfound influence later spearheaded the fight for abolition. Upon inspection, the actions of various groups of abolitionist women mirrored those of the women of the revolution.Before writing my thesis, I planned a research trip to Washington, D.C., to conduct research at the Daughters of the American Revolution Library and Museum and the Library of Congress. My primary goal was to find primary and secondary sources or references on women from either the Revolutionary Era or the Abolition movement. Secondary sources included books and articles, while primary sources comprised letters, newspaper selections, meeting records, and other notable documents. I was able to undertake this trip thanks to the A.J. Palumbo Research Grant from Saint Vincent College.My work ethic and character are also reflected in my athletic career, where I earned two honors during my four years playing soccer at Saint Vincent College. In my senior year, under Head Coach Matthew Davis, I received the team honor of the Brian Smith 'All In' Award, recognizing the player who best displayed an "all-in" mentality with unselfishness and a team-first attitude. Additionally, I received the John Granish Award, which honors student-athletes who have maximized their abilities through hard work, dedication, and determination throughout their four years at Saint Vincent.
