Manager, Events
Blizzard's North American Internal Events department consists of only a few team members, but produces over twenty company-wide events a year. With an employee count upwards of three thousand employees in our Irvine HQ office, each event can have attendance in the several hundreds, if not the thousands and has visibility to all employees - including senior leadership. Because of this, budgets can range from the tens-of-thousands to over a million dollars, but are all meticulously planned to have the best attendee experience while still being as cost effective as possible. As an Event Manager, I am a lead event producer for our large-scale employee events. Regardless of size, I ensure each internal event goes through the proper processes from beginning-to-end to guarantee success, including: *Kick-off initial discussions with key stakeholders; providing an event brief that outlines goals, KPIs, key milestones, and other crucial information for review. *Create a milestone schedule based on the kick-off to track and prioritize tasks for each aspect of the event. *RFP vendors to ensure the best rate, as well as negotiate contract terms and route for legal review. *Communicate with support teams and vendors to establish needs and scheduling. *Determine event logistics needs: security, staffing, rental, network, power, etc. *Create event documentation: site plan, production schedule, run-of-show, etc. *Oversee on-site execution. *Manage the event budget, track projections, and reconcile for Finance. *Hold post mortems and surveys to identify strengths and learnings for future reference.Additional role responsibilities include: *Help determine the internal event quantity, timing, scope, and event lead for the upcoming year. *Project lead for several major elements for BlizzCon (varies by year). *Managing team members of varying experience levels. *Support other events team members with pre-planning and on-site event needs.
