Teaching assistant for a graduate-level course in mathematical finance (Math 581), covering topics such as Portfolio Theory, Capital Market Theory, and the BSM Model.

Performed individual stipended research in the field of geometric combinatorics as a PRUV Fellow, studying properties of the surfaces of polytopes. My work is to generalize "unfolding" algorithms on these surfaces, ultimately trying to prove that any convex polytope can be unfolded in polynomial time, regardless of the dimension it is embedded in.

Assisted with the instruction and administration of Duke's Introduction to Computer Science course by teaching students the principles of problem solving in Python. Held office hours, led weekly discussion sections, and graded exams.

Performed full-time math research in the field of differential geometry under the Duke Opportunities in Mathematics program. My research revealed rich structure in rotationally symmetric minimal surfaces, objects with various engineering and physics applications. I am continuing to work with team members to publish results.

I participated in a series of diplomatic talks with Japanese and American university students in Tokyo, Kyoto and Nagasaki from July 28th to August 26th, working to strengthen bilateral relations while learning about Japanese industry and culture. The program concluded with a final forum attended by ISC stakeholders and media representatives.

Research assistant at the West Neurobiology Lab. Analyzed bulk RNA sequencing data for project on a rare neurodevelopmental disorder, and coauthored the resulting academic paper, which was published in the journal Human Molecular Genetics.

Worked full-time as a paid research assistant at the HIHG through the NIH-funded JJVance Memorial Research Internship. Analyzed single cell sequencing data for an Alzheimer’s research project, and acknowledged in the resulting publication in the journal Alzheimer's and Dementia.
