I received my first guitar when I was 13 and my life has revolved around music ever since. I first became interested in audio about 11 years ago when our punk band was recorded by a close friend of ours in our practice space. He was making a living working with music, and I was jealous. I had already been working in restaurants for a few years at that point and took a job offer that led me towards an awesome, fun and rewarding career as a chef holding several management positions over the years and learning how to deal with people under highly stressful situations. There was one thing missing though, there wasn’t enough music in my life. So, I started researching and working towards finding out if a career in audio was right for me. I researched schools, but than put that on hold to try and work in the business. I volunteered at a local venue as a stage hand, pushed faders for lights, and got to work close with the GM learning how he interacted with the talent and accommodated rider requests. I also worked with a small local sound company and put together my own PA system. It seemed my research at online forums always led me to people talking about the Conservatory of Recording Arts & Sciences, so after careful research I decided to accelerate my audio experience and have found CRAS to be one of the best experiences of my life!
