I am currently year into my journey at Switalskis Solicitors as a Trainee Solicitor. My first seat began in the Personal Injury department at the Doncaster office, and I have since transitioned to the Family Department. During my time at the firm, I have been able to apply my legal knowledge, obtained from my time at Northumbria University, to assist clients with a variety of personal legal issues. In the Personal Injury team, I gained exposure to a broad range of legal areas, including Occupiers' Liability, Employer's Liability, Negligence, and liability for animals. In the Family Department, I have been involved in both children and financial matters, providing support on cases related to child arrangements, divorce, and financial settlements. This has given me insight into the sensitive and complex nature of family law, further enhancing my skills in client care and case management.Currently, I am also undertaking my police station accreditation, further expanding my expertise in representing clients in legal matters. Prior to joining Switalskis, I gained valuable legal experience as part of the credit hire team at Winn Solicitors, where I worked in a fast-paced legal environment and developed practical knowledge of the civil litigation process.Alongside my studies, I volunteered at Citizens Advice as a Witness Support Officer, providing tailored support to witnesses in criminal courts across England and Wales before they give evidence. This role included everything from pre-trial visits for vulnerable and intimidated witnesses to liaising with prosecution solicitors and court ushers to ensure that witness needs were met.
