Vaux Housing Development, Sunderland (£41.4m)July 2022 to PresentTolent Construction Ltd My most recent experience with Tolent was working on the Vaux housing development in Sunderland. During the past 7 months, I have been involved in setting out, site surveying, site inductions and quality assurance checks.Responsibilities• Using the traverse method to establish stations and control surrounding the site which would be permanent and lasting the duration of the project – main control in which I could set up secondary control• Surveying and quantifying material removed from the foundations and concrete used in the foundations under a material management plan. Use of Magnet Office software in order to establish values for each area• Monthly topographical surveys of the material storage area in order to track and compare the net amounts of material from the foundations alongside the net amount of material stored. This was required as we had to build up the storage area at the lower area to eventually level and compact to create a sub-base for an external landscaping area. • Setting out and surveying drainage installations throughout the course of construction – main lines and connections within the housing plots.• Steelwork surveys – line and level surveys on structural steelwork• Setting out – foundations, beam & block floor, ground beams and drainage• Recording and analysing data using CAD software (Magnet Office)• Occasional inductions of new attendees to the site.• Quality assurance checks including concrete pre-pour checks.• Attending weekly progress meetings to review and plan works ahead in line with construction programme

Milburnagte Development, Durham (£84.5m)June 2019 - June 2022Tolent Construction LtdHaving started my career with Tolent, I was employed on Milburngate mixed-use development in Durham city centre. The scheme consisted of a hotel, 3no PRS blocks, an office as well as an RC frame with undercroft parking area. As I was 17 years old when I started on site, I had to shadow a Senior Engineer during the early stages of earthworks and CFA piling. The split-level site required construction of a 136no piled contig wall, each pile being 1.3m in diameter. Being involved in the setting out of this was great experience for me so early in my career. Responsibilities• Shadowed senior engineer in the setting out of piles across the job.• Carried out occasional topographical surveys on the berm installation and removal. • Surveys of plumb and position on all the structural steelwork installations with records.• Level surveys carried out on all the slabs in each building with records.• Involved in the setting out of the entrance road into the top part of the site pinning out the kerb lines and adding levels• Trained in the use of CAD software and implementing skills to produce sketches, analysing records of surveys carried out, and editing drawings to suit changes occurring in design from problems encountered on site• Setting out various blockwork walls around the site and providing levels for the subcontractors to use.• Setting datums and transferring them across the site while reducing any possible discrepancies found along the way.• Using stations set on each corner of the different buildings in order to establish gridlines and datums to the elevations of the building – used by the cladding and window subcontractors to construct the external elevations
