Originally from Chicago, I came to China in 2006 for what was supposed to be one year of intensive Chinese language studies at Shanghai Jiao Tong University. Almost immediately after arriving I knew I would be here for a while. In early 2008, I started working for the Roche Family Office (RFO) in Shanghai, primarily helping to manage a portfolio of 6 investments in mainland China. In 2010 I took a general management position in one of the RFO investments, Redhorse Performance, a manufacturer of high-performance hose ends and hoses for the automotive aftermarket. Over the past seven years, I helped Redhorse grow 4-fold to become one of the leading players in the market. In 2013 I co-founded IS Seafood with Birgir Stefansson and Robert Roche. IS Seafood imports and distributes high quality, sustainably sourced seafood throughout China. Over the past four years, we have grown from scratch to service over 1000 of the top hotels, restaurants, and food service companies in China. I have experience in strategic planning and execution, supply chain management, manufacturing, product development, and operations. I'm a strong reader, writer, and speaker of Mandarin Chinese who is thrilled to be doing business in one of the most exciting markets in the world.Outside of work, I am interested photography, literature, music, and Illini/Chicago sports.
