I teach Immuno/hematology lab once a year at De Anza

I am the molecular supervisor for the HLA Laboratory, in addition I work on-call as a CLS for the rest of the lab. This means matching patients and donors for transplantation as well as monitoring patients before and after transplant for bone marrow and solid organ. Often there are severe time limitations, high stress, and a focus on accuracy. Main responsibilities include: overseeing a highly skilled team of scientists working on low and high resolution sequencing (RT-PCR, SSOP, NGS Sequencing), chimerism testing, disease association, implementing new technologies, antibody identification and strength, flow crossmatching between cells and serum, QC, troubleshooting, inventory, and education. I work with several robotic platforms and many different software platforms.
