My career in the theater, education and producing has not always been a linear one, but I wouldn’t trade it for anything else. I hold a BFA in Classical Theatre from Cornish College of the Arts and a certificate from the Directing Intensive at Yale University. I have been an actor since I was in elementary school, getting my first professional job when I was only eleven years old. The mentors I had early in my artistic life made a huge impact on who I am today and I strive to be that for my students.I have been teaching various aspects of theater with ages from 11-17 years old for over a decade now. The courses I have taught vary from Drama Story, Shakespeare, Monologues, Auditioning, Playwriting, Stage Combat and Directing. On top of teaching and audition coaching, I have directed many shows and shortened shows for youth programs. One of my most consistent jobs has been with Icicle Creek Center of the Arts in Leavenworth, Washington. It is a summer camp and intensive, targeted at youth who are interested in continuing their theater education and seeking a professional career in the theater. In 2018, I was appointed Assistant Camp Director and was responsible for building the schedule, curriculum and selecting shows. Getting to be a major part of these young artist’s journey has been one of the greatest joys of my life. Many of my students have stayed in touch as they continue into their professional careers. In 2018, Segerstrom Center for the Arts (SCA) in Orange County hired me onto their roster as a theater teaching artist. Though Segerstrom I have the opportunity to build my own curriculums and teach numerous workshops, camps and intensives with elementary, middle school and high school aged students. Unfortunately, the work through SCA is a bit sporadic, so I would love a slightly more long-term position that is closer to home. I love building programs specifically for high school aged artists.
