Buckinghamshire Council has a bold vision to transform active travel for local communities. I play a key role in bringing this vision to life. I work on the development and delivery of active travel infrastructure across Buckinghamshire. I cover all stages of the project lifecycle from feasibility and business case development through to construction and commissioning. I also secure external funding to enable the Council to deliver on its active travel vision. I strongly believe that improvements to active travel are best delivered when done in partnership with local community organisations, charities and businesses. This collaborative partnership approach forms the basis of all the schemes that I lead on. I am the Council’s lead Officer for the Buckinghamshire Greenway. This transformative project will see the delivery of a continuous north-south active travel route running the length of the county, from the Colne Valley all the way to Buckingham and Silverstone. I am working to bring route sections forward to ‘shovel ready’ delivery status and secure the funding required to enable their construction. I represent the Council and Buckinghamshire residents in forums with key strategic stakeholders in both the public and private sectors. Whether it is dealing with the Department for Transport, HS2 Ltd, Pinewood Studios or Silverstone Park, I am always looking to maximise the benefits that these organisations and others can bring for local communities.

I work on the development and delivery of transport schemes across Buckinghamshire, with a particular focus on active travel schemes.I am playing a part in shaping Buckinghamshire Council's strategic priorities for transport in the county, translating these into discrete schemes around which business cases and bids for funding can be developed.I engage closely with local communities, interest groups, charities and other public bodies on joint development of schemes, from conception through development of funding strategies all the way to delivery.I am working with partners to realise the vision of the Buckinghamshire Greenway - a high quality, continuous active travel route running north-south through the county. This strategic spine will represent a major advance for active travel in Buckinghamshire, giving many local people a genuine alternative to car transport for the first time, connecting people with education and employment opportunities, and further developing the county's tourism credentials.

I was a Project Manager in the Old Oak Common Integrated Delivery Team. For 18 months, I was acting as a Senior Project Manager. I was the HS2 Ltd Client lead for all works being undertaken by Network Rail (NR) on HS2’s behalf at OOC, with a portfolio value of £0.5bn+. This covered several multi-disciplinary projects, each at different stages of the project lifecycle from design through to construction and commissioning. I was responsible for bringing teams and individuals together across HS2, NR and supply chain partners to secure the right outputs for successful delivery. I was responsible for setting and agreeing budget, schedule and scope requirements, monitoring project performance against them and reporting on this to senior management. I represented HS2 Ltd with senior stakeholders from HM Government, Local Authorities, Freight/Train Operating Companies and Industry partners. I co-ordinated changes to projects in my portfolio prompted by external impacts. The collaborative, best-for-programme approach I applied in this role saw project issues tackled quickly and effectively, and facilitated the implementation of new solutions that benefitted cost and programme for OOC.

I was the Project Sponsor for the Old Oak Common Depot Decommissioning project. My time in this role allowed me to strengthen my skills in a number of areas, including project management, commercial contract management, land, consents and property, change management, and regulatory change.I oversaw the project delivery team, working with them to help ensure that key programme, scope and cost requirements were met. I successfully managed the land transfer process, including the relinquishing of Great Western Railway's lease and transfer of land to HS2 Ltd. I worked with HS2 Ltd. and NR colleagues to secure funding for the project, including securing of relevant approvals and agreements.I worked closely with industry colleagues to minimise the impact of the project on railway operations as far as possible, including the creation of collaborative agreements with Great Western Railway and Heathrow Express. I successfully secured industry approval for all regulatory change associated with the project, including a number of Network and Depot Change notices.

I was a member of the Infrastructure Projects (IP) Southern organisation, working on enhancement projects covering Network Rail's Anglia route.I worked on the Lee Valley Rail Programme. This project will enable increased frequencies on the Stratford - Bishop's Stortford service, which runs through key growth areas in north east London. A significant multi-disciplinary scheme, works include structural alterations and replacements, the provision of a new third track and associated railway systems works, station upgrades at Tottenham Hale and Northumberland Park, and provision for future works associated with Crossrail 2.My work was focussed on the construction of a new station in the Upper Edmonton area, where the project is working with the London Borough of Enfield to support Meridian Water, a planned major regeneration scheme. I worked on the scheme through outline design, detailed design and into construction.

I was a member of the High Speed Rail Phase 1 Team. Part of Network Strategy & Capacity Planning, the team fulfils Internal Clienting and Sponsorship duties for projects on Network Rail infrastructure related to the delivery of the High Speed 2 project. I was involved in Sponsorship for the West Coast Main Line (WCML) - Crossrail Link scheme and other projects related to the Old Oak & Park Royal Development Corporation (OPDC) area.I was Lead Sponsor for the Euston HS2 Enabling Works - Railway Systems project, charged with re-modelling the existing railway in the Euston area in order to allow for the construction of HS2 Ltd. infrastructure. This multi-million pound project will see major changes made across all railway disciplines. In my position as Sponsor, I was responsible for overseeing the project delivery team and liaising with HS2 Ltd as External Client, whilst managing critical stakeholder relationships with HM Government, Train Operating Companies and others.

I worked in IP Signalling on deployment of the European Train Control System (ETCS) on the Great Western Main Line in preparation for the arrival of Crossrail services in 2018. I was involved in the project through to the end of GRIP 3. This project will bring the first roll out of ETCS to main line railways in Britain.
