Chaiyaphum, Thailand

I worked as a Native English Speaker/Teacher at a local Primary School in the town of Chaiyaphum in Thailand as part of my 'gap year' experience. I taught English, Maths, Science and Health to children from the ages of 7-11 years oldMy roles included the organisation and teaching of lessons and games, the grading of homework and tests and running English speaking activity camps for both local schools and schools in other provinces. I worked closely with students who were struggling to make sure that they understood the work and helped them to progress.

St. Ives, Cambridgeshire

I was a temporary worker at Magdalene Ltd, a telecommunications company based in Cambridgeshire. The company provides network maintenance and operations services to a variety of clients including some FTSE 250 companies.My role was in the Network Operations Centre (NOC). My role was to raise tickets for any faults that were registered to the database. As well as setting up the ticket for the client, I would schedule a Maintenance engineer to attend and deal with the fault. This had to be arranged so the engineer would be able to arrive at the site within the agreed Service License Agreement (SLA). Aside from these, I was also expected to keep a record of the whole progress and order parts from suppliers to arrive on site before the Engineers arrival.

St. Ives

The Burgess Hall is a events and conference centre run by Huntingdonshire District Council (HDC). The centre is hired out for a variety of events including Weddings, parties, boxing events, dinners and school proms amongst others. There were also events put on by HDC themselves, including 'Boogie Nights', New Years dinners and Bingo nights.My role was to work behind the bar and serve drinks. This included handling the customers money and operating the tills to give change. I also helped to stock the bar during busy periods. I did some work in the Kitchen for Antique fair events, helping to prepare food to order for customers. I helped with the set-up and set-down for these events.
