My role as an Avionics Technician in the Royal Australian Air Force is to provide maintenance support to the E-7 Airborne Early Warning & Control aircraft. Systems i am directly involved to maintaining include the MESA Radar system, Mission computing system and sub-systems, Communications systems as well as all the Boeing 737 base system. My employment also involves the preventative maintenance planning to keep the E-7 serviceable at all times, Design and implementation of modifications to the aircraft and unscheduled maintenance including fault finding of all avionics systems on board. Other aspects of my job include: Handling of explosives and countermeasures, maintaining tooling and special equipment, Liaising with outside agency's for engineering and technical support, deciphering of Foreign Source Material for use in maintenance and planning, security of hanger and aircraft, rising of reports such as: defects, deficiency, engineering requests and publication changes.

As an Assistant Engineering Officer i work directly under an the head engineer of the Locomotive engineering department, my job included making sure designs and modification of the rolling stock met the Australian and American rail standards, records keeping of manufacture and maintenance of the locomotives, engineering design and testing of required modifications, raising and distribution of engineering bulletins, liaising with suppliers for product development and status tracking, company part number system development, warehouse management.
