By proving that all students, regardless of where they are born or their initial academic performance, can achieve at extremely high academic levels, Democracy Prep seeks to transformnot only the lives of our students, but also raise the expectations for public schools across the nation and beyond.College Counselor Role:My role is to educate students and parents about college, specifically, the college admissions process, trends, procedures, and testing. I serve as the primary college advisor for our junior scholars and provide support and run College readiness lessons with seniors and their families as they go through the college application process, guiding them aspire realistically and choose wisely. Additionally, I have develop and implemented culturally relevant, engaging and educational experiences for students and families. Plan, supervise, develop and assess common experiences, activities and events that enhance students’ experiences in and out of the classroom.
