Forestry Supervisor
Current-Assist Manager Forestry Operations in management of the Vegetation Management program for Unitil.-Coordination, direction, and inspection of vegetation management contractor activities within an assigned area, to ensure they consistently improve reliability, are cost effective, environmentally acceptable, promote a safe work environment, and are customer-focused.-Implementing corporate policies, procedures, specifications and work plans related to vegetation management within an activity based budget.-Auditing and evaluating a wide variety of field operations, including vendor performance; program compliance with fiscal, environmental and regulatory standards; and collected program data, to ensure corporate standards are met, and are contributing to corporate goals.-Responding to customer inquiries and concerns.-Implementing training and coaching of line clearance contractors.-Creating hazard tree lists for contractors using knowledge of tree species characteristic, forest pathogens, damaging insects, and a wide variety of other biotic and abiotic defects.-Promoting community forestry to address utility line clearance within service territory and maintains participation with professional agencies.-Assisting in storm restoration efforts as needed.-Providing external public relations by fostering and maintaining a working relationship with state and town officials.-Responsible for the effective management of local resources as required to meet the company’s mission and goals, while ensuring the reliable, efficient, and safe delivery of electric distribution service to customers.-Collaborating with operations and engineering colleagues to insure the effectiveness of operations business processes and practices; and with Business Development, Communications, and Customer Service personnel to foster successful relationships between Unitil and its service area communities and customers.
