As a head of department, I have been appointed to drive improvements in the Economics provision provided at GCSE and A Level as well as write and implement the A Level Law course.Key skills and additional responsibilities:• Line management of my department.• Creating a new A Level course with immediate enrolment of Year 12 students.• Writing subject improvement and strategy plans.• Supporting non-subject specialists teaching Economics for the first time.

• As Head of Year 11 I was responsible for the pastoral and academic development of 120 students in one of the most deprived areas of the UK. • Providing guidance, support and mentorship to students in difficult situations, both in and outside of the classroom.• Being empathetic where needed to help students improve their behaviour and work towards better academic outcomes.• Line management of all Year 11 tutors and responsibility for the delivery of a PSHE and personal development programme.• Facilitating post-16 applications to a wide variety of institutions and building relationships with local institutions and employers to develop the school’s network.• Continuous professional development of subject knowledge, curriculum development, leadership, safeguarding and pastoral best practice.• Liaising with external bodies such as the police, CAHMS and social services. • Analysing data to revise school policies around academic and pastoral issues and being responsible for the implementation of those new policies.• Monitoring interventions to ensure good quality outcomes.• Running an employability programme with The Old Vic theatre and RBC.

My role was to resolve complaints about a wide range of financial products from first initial contact with the service until resolution.Key skills and additional responsibilities:• Excellent judgement skills and an ability to make decisions based on the available evidence. • Strong rapport building and persuasion skills with both consumers and firms.• Line managing and leading a team of adjudicators specialising in resolving complaints about multiple insurance products. • Identifying areas of the service in need of improvement and subsequently designing several service improvement projects specifically aimed at resolving disputes as early as possible.• Playing a key role establishing the service’s approach and policies in relation to service agreements. • Working alongside senior ombudsmen to draft legally binding decisions.• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.• Problem solving and investigation skills.• Writing whole service guidance on motor insurance products and setting out the service’s approach on how to handle several common issues that arise in motor insurance.

Member of a special project team set up to select historical policy files for permanent preservation at The National Archives.Key skills:• Analysing large amounts of data and a thorough knowledge of the history of the Lord Chancellor's Department (later Ministry of Justice) dating back to the 1970s in order to fulfil the task of protecting the Ministry’s corporate history.• Selected records had to be read for sensitivity which involved redacting relevant information according to the Freedom of Information Act and the Data Protection Act. This task required great attention to detail and dealing with highly classified information.
