Litigate civil and administrative actions across the Midwest enforcing federal employment statutes and provide legal advice to DOL agencies.

Trial and appellate civil rights counsel, predominantly on federal class actions regarding unconstitutional conditions of confinement in prisons and immigrant detention facilities. Other work included state court representation of people serving excessive prison sentences, advice to local activist groups, and developing cases focused on racial justice and criminal legal system reform.

Represented individuals and companies in securities, commercial, and mass tort litigation; white collar defense; internal and government investigations; regulatory advisory matters; international arbitration; and other proceedings and inquiries. Representative matters included litigation and investigations involving Foreign Corrupt Practices Act, securities fraud, shareholder derivative suits, whistleblower retaliation, anti-money laundering, antitrust, OFAC sanctions, federal vehicle and consumer product safety regulations, commercial disputes, among others.

Assisted attorneys in legal representation of low-income parents accused of child neglect or abuse in Kings County Family Court.

Investigated complaints of misconduct allegedly committed by NYPD police officers, involving use of excessive force, abuse of authority, discourteous behavior and/or use of offensive language.
